This silk and cotton cushion features a green and cream woven pattern with blue trim. It is handmade using ikat weaving techniques.
Woven by hand on Uzbek looms, the fabric travels to a group of women in a village in Kyrgyzstan who make them into cushion covers, exclusively for Made & Told.
Each cushion therefore tells a story of interwoven communities on the Former Silk Road, and provides income for artisans in Uzbekistan reviving ancient techniques and economic empowerment for rural women in Kyrgyzstan.
Filled with an 18″ duck feather inner.
This cushion will be wrapped in recycled tissue paper and posted in a biodegradable plastic bag, along with a story card featuring more information about the artisans and their crafts.
