The embroidery on this cushion cover is known as suzani, a traditional art from found in Uzbekistan. These are handmade by Oysara in the village of Shakrisabz, and feature a tree of life design with colourful pomegranates.
They are made from 100% naturally dyed silk. The ivory colour is achieved by dying the finished product using walnuts.
In Uzbek culture pomegranates represent fertility. Suzani embroidery is traditionally a gift to a bride, bringing blessing to her new family and to remind her of the family she has left behind. They are made in panels by different women in the family.
The cushion cover features a zip fastening, which is concealed by a hem.
Comes with a 22″ duck feather inner.
This cushion will be wrapped in recycled tissue paper and posted in a biodegradable plastic bag.
